Finished watching the 15 or so hours of the Sci Fi Channel original movie mini-series "Taken" produced by Steven Speilberg. I have to say that taken as a whole, it really blows sci fi feature films out of the water and really puts a stamp on serious film-making experience, given full-length feature films a real challenge. Even a three-part Lord of the Ring's cannot compete with the depth and historic, generational, and character-driven, convoluted plot design of a television mini-series that such an mass entertainment media can offer (now that cable television exists).
