What are your favorite Bruce Willis films and why ?

What are your favorite Bruce Willis films he's made so far, for either the film, his performance, or a combo of both and please say why, for any films named ?

Pardon me if you are his fan,
I actually have to surf the web before a movie by him pops up and I say WOW ... it has to be that movie ...

So, after looking through his filmography ...
I think I will go for these three:

(1) The Sixth Sense
(although I thought Haley Joel Osment looks like the Lead and Bruce looks like the Supporting).
I like the show mainly because of the FORMER, NOT Bruce.

The next two are ok, the more memorable ones from Bruce
(2) Twelve Monkeys
(3) Die Hard
But I would rather say, they are more for entertainment rather than movies I will watch again and again.

uh...hmmm...ummm...ohhh...no, actually...hmmm...well maybe Breakfast of Champions, Pulp Fiction and Die Hard. Why? will have to think about that.

"Last Boy Scout" with Damon Wayans (and Halle Berry, wow) is ultimately a dumb action movie but it's got a lot of great lines, and it's Willis in his prime, if you like that sort of thing. Recommended if you want to be entertained without having to think too much.

Bruce Willis has become stereotyped as the tough, macho guy. However, he has played a few roles that extend his acting talents to demonstrate that he can do more than just shot people and survive impossible odds:

The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990) presented him more as a supporting actor in a more serious, sympathetic role.

Pulp Fiction (1994) presented him in a more self-deprecating, sympathetic role.

Twelve Monkeys (1995) perhaps one of his finest performances and more unusual scripts is able to really shine in this science fiction/time travel role that is haunting and as powerful as "The Sixth Sense."

The Jackel (1997) is a villain vehicle which usually only confident actors take, feeling comfortable to discard the main stream, popular facade and play a cold, assassin.

The Sixth Sense (1999) is a role that really has more to do with the script than with Mr. Willis that carries the show.

The Whole Nine Yards (2000) demonstrates his ability to play comedy using his past stereotypical image to good effect.

The Kid (2000) demonstrates Mr. Willis' comedic straight man ability.

Sin City (2005) will be interesting to see how Mr. Willis has evolved as an actor.

Bruce Willis isn't among the top of my list of actors and hasn't adequately demonstrated his ability as a consistent A-list actor - but he has extended his range and will be long remembered for some of his movies. His career is far from over.

Well Pulp Fiction is the best film he was in, but not his best film. That title would have to go to Die Hard. I mean this is one of the greatest action movies ever, and I grew up with it, so what else do you want from me? Die Hard is great because of Bruce Willis. Nearly anybody could have been Butch and Pulp Fiction would have worked, but who else could have pulled off "Yippie Ki-yay mother fucker"?

The Palme d'Or winner is by far the best film he's been in. I enjoyed his banter with Sam Jackson in Die Hard: With a Vengeance. I think this series should continue.

As an action-adventure genre, Die Hard (1988) is easily considered among the best of its kind, setting a new standard like Jaws (1975) or Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). The Towering Inferno (1974), Beverly Hills Cop (1984) and Lethal Weapon (1987) were suggestive of this subsequent movie. But Die Hard stood out as capturing a composite of skycraper, law enforcement/terrorist antics along with a strong, captivating lead character as Bruce Willis. Whether or not another actor could have presented as strong a character is difficult to tell, but timing, fate, accident allowed Mr. Willis to make this movie vehicle entirely his own. From a dramatic, penetrating characterization that allowed for even more substantive acting, Twelve Monkeys remains my favorite.

Imdb is listing a "Die Hard 4.0" as being in production, to be released in '06. What this is, I couldn't possibly guess. Bruce Willis is now 50 - maybe he'll chase the bad guys in his wheel chair. Hopefully he's at least given up the chain smoking by now.

That's good news and its imdb page is already "buzzing"...wait a minute...a vhs of the film is available in the U.K.,...oh...that's Hard 4 - Sleaze...sigh. Willis is actually in pretty good shape for his age (maybe that's because of his budding porn career) and from the looks of it McTiernan will be directing this one too. Let's hope the supporting cast is solid also.
