    César Awards 2014

The Césars were awarded last week. A number of the Rendez-Vous with French Cinema 2014 films were nominated. All the Best Film nominees have been discussed in these pages but the winner and Polanski's VENUS IN FUR (I saw the Broadway stage version but it was a wholly different production). We have not seen Guillaume Gallienne. I've starred the ones NOT mentioned on Filmleaf previously. Though there are some important items missing this is an answer to those who claim US French film series and other items covered here (SFIFF, NYFF), with a boost from my Paris movie journals, don't provide a good view of what the French consider to be their best cinematic efforts. We've got it pretty well covered.
