REAL RECOVERY Festival NYC, Quad Cinema

The REAL RECVOERY FESTIVAL, ending today at Quad Cinema in New York, presents new films about addiction and recovery. It's in its sixth year and besides NYC lists Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Vancouver, and Delray Beach, Florida as additional venues running through the fall and spring months. Sacramento is another venue being developed. For more information go to www.realrecoveryfestival.org. The American Addict films, which I sampled from this year's fest, are hard-hitting documentaries about how the "War on Drugs" has only benefitted Big Pharma, leading to the US population's incrasing problem with addictive use of prescription medications.
