THE TASTE OF THINGS/LA PASSION DE DODIN BOUFFANT (Trân Anh Hùng 2023)

The triumph here is reproducing French grand cuisine from 1885, utensils, methods, ingredients. Along with that is the slow-developing romance between chief cook Juliette Binoche and boss Benoît Magimel, and while that romance seemed a bit undercooked to me, the movie won Hung Best Director at Cannes and has been chosen as France's candidate for he best foreign Oscar competition.
