    The best vampire flicks are....

In my opinion I would have to say that the greatest vampire films have to be THE LOST BOYS (Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, Corey Haim, and Corey Feldman) and FRIGHT NIGHT (William Ragsdale, Roddy McDowell, Chris Sarandan, Stephen Geoffreys). They were both unique in the way that they were scary but also had some very fnny elements to them such as the Frog Brothers in LOST BOYS and Evil Ed in FRIGHT NIGHT. Great films. I can think of no better vampire film. Close but no cigar are Francis Ford Coppola's rendition of BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA and NEAR DARK.

Vampires, is it? John Badham made an expensive pig's ear from Dracula back in 1979 (or thereabouts), but a couple of years before that the BBC made a very creditable TV drama, starring Louis Jourdan and Frank Finlay as the Count and the Prof, respectively. Check it out if you can - I don't know that the BBC have any plans to release it on video/DVD any time soon, but you never know...
